A friend of mine sent me a message the other day and asked if I could make her matching cowgirl bows for her nieces. Sure, no problem... Unfortunately she was on a time crunch. While I used to work good under pressure it seems I am not so good anymore. She wanted ribbon with their names on it. Usually this is not a problem. I have been creating and printing on ribbon for a few months now no problem... Not this week. After ruining a good 4 yards of ribbon I gave up and opted for some simple iron on names... I love doing this! It's a great way to just add a littler personal touch to any bow, easy to do (assuming you make your picture/name the right size when you print it out), and not too expensive which means a savings for those who buy my bows. To make the bows a little more personalized I created some images for bottle caps...8 images to be exact. Sent her a pic of the bottle caps and her response: I love them all you pick! I love this person she is great, always challenging me to create unique bows for her granddaughter and now her nieces, but at this point I was in no shape to pick out a favorite image (my week had been very long). This is where the great idea comes out of all of the misfortune I was having with the ribbon and having to make choices and what not.... I will use ALL the bottle caps!!!!! Muhahahaha! And so, I am now introducing my Magnetic Bottle Cap Bows line (I know it's kind of a mouthful but I'm not good with the naming just the crafting). Now for the fun part...PICTURES!!! I think they are super cute! Might just be my option but my friend liked them too. See those cute hearts with their names. It's an iron on. When I printed them out the first time they were just a bit too big to fit on that ribbon because of the stitching so I made two more bows for each girl with a magnet in the middle so they could put the bottle caps in the middle of those too!
